I’m finding myself in a slump again – one that I find even more difficult to get out of. You guys might have noticed that I haven’t blogged for a week despite my earlier promise to do so everyday. The problem is the improbable has happened: I have gotten sick of the Internet! I feel like that equals a doomsday announcement. Me, certified internet addict, now fed up with the internet. What happened?
I guess work happened. When your work takes over something that you used to enjoy doing, the fun gets sucked out of it. Soon, going online has become equivalent to going to work and I, for one, don’t want to be working 24/7.
Although I no longer have a job at the moment (since I resigned), I still can’t shake off that association. So, these days, I’d rather read a good book, go out with my friends, or go self-defense training, than go online. As a result, my blog has suffered. Poor, blog 😦
Today, though, I decided to give it another shot. I have so many thing lined up on my blog but I wanted to start with something easy. Something that would inspire me to start writing again but won’t require so much writing finesse or creativity.
What better way to start than with a makeup haul post? Makeup always excites me and because it’s just a haul, I won’t have to worry (yet) about writing a fantastic review.
These pieces were given to me by some really nice people. I’d like to start with the Michael Kors Estee Lauder 2011 Holiday Gift Set.
It comes in this nice red box and inside you can find the following items:
There was also a Michael Kors tank top in it but I’ve already used it recently so it’s still in the wash 🙂 The silver makeup bag, embossed with the Michael Kors logo, is big enough to fit your makeup essentials. I love the quilted / embossed design as it makes the bag unique and adds a luxurious feel to it.
Then, there’s the sleek gold palette containing six eye shadow colors that you can use for either day or night. There’s also a blush palette that’s warm enough to also double as a bronzer. A blush brush and an eye shadow brush are also included in the set along with Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Eye Pencil in Onyx. The eye pencil I have used several times and I love it! It goes on so smoothly and doesn’t budge easily.
For the lips, you get a Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in 03 Crystal Pink. It’s very sheer as you can see in the swatch (right side). You can top it with the Pure Color Gloss in 04 Brazen Berry.
Next on my haul is this Rockin in Rio Stila palette. The colors are just so beautiful. I especially love the rich blue shade called Ipanema and the cream blush / lip color called Freesia. Plus, the palette also comes with a mirror (as I think every palette should have!) and instructions on how to best wear all the colors together.
Last but not the least is this Dolce & Gabbana animalier bronzer. I already posted a photo of it on my Facebook page but I thought it still deserves a place in my haul just because it’s sooo gorgeous. Until now, I have yet to actually wear it because I don’t wanna ruin the leopard print but soon, I shall have to use it. It’s perfect for the summer! 🙂
And that’s about it for my makeup haul. 🙂
Hopefully, tomorrow, I’ll be able to keep on writing and come up with another post for you guys. I have some pending reviews, events, and food posts for you. 🙂
