Dressing for Graduation

It’s nearly the end of March and it’s graduation season again. I remember when it was nearing my own graduation from university, my friends and I worried about what to wear under our togas. In the end, my roommate wore a pretty flower – printed dress while I wore a classic black, pleated dress from Sarah Jessica Parker’s line, Smitten. Depending on your school’s regulations, there are several choices of graduation dresses in the market. Below, I’ve detailed some options to consider: 1. The Sophisticate –Β If you lean more towards a classic, sophisticated silhouette, then this dress from Tadashi Shoji is a great option. The draping complements different body types and the color is appropriate for the occasion. Tadashi Shoji 2. A Modern Mindset – If a draped Grecian dress is not your style, then this might appeal more to your aesthetic. This cut-out dress is more modern in terms of silhouette plus the print and cutout details give it an edge. I personally prefer this dress over the previous one. πŸ™‚ modern 3. Sweet Sixteen – Maybe you’re graduating from high school or maybe you like things sweet yet sassy then you might consider something like the pretty pink baby doll dress below. The detailing makes the simple cut much more interesting. d1aa1469-by-josh-and-jazz 4. The After PartyΒ – After the graduation ceremonies, you might be heading out to party with your friends to celebrate the end of school. If you are, consider something like this sexy bodycon dress from Jovani. It’s sexy without being overtly sexual so you can get away with wearing it in school. Just throw on a cardigan or a jacket to be safe. sexy party 5. Chic and Casual – Of course, if you’re not really the type to go all out on dress up, something chic and casual like the dress below is a great alternative. You can dress up or dress down the look depending on the accessories you wear. casual chic I hope you guys found these tips helpful and to all the graduates out there, a big CONGRATULATIONS! 1. This made me remember my own graduation.. XD I actually didn’t think much about what I’ll wear then, but I’m quite happy that what I wore somehow represents my personality πŸ™‚ During our grad rehearsal, I wore something chic and casual, while on the grad day itself, I went sporting something sweet sixteen-ish but with a more muted color.

Anyway, congrats to all the graduates this March πŸ™‚

  2. I skipped my graduation day. I went to Disney with my parents instead. LOL. I kind of regret it now.

If I were to turn back time, I’d probably just wear black dress. Yours was very elegant.
