OOTD: Somewhere I Have Never Traveled

I’m taking a break today from creative writing. There are days when words come effortlessly and my fingers can barely keep up with the rush of ideas, but there are days too when I end up just staring at the screen because nothing comes out. This day is theΒ latter. I’ve run out of inspiration I guess or I’m just too tired to think. πŸ™‚

Nevertheless, I’m trying to make it up to you for neglecting my blog for a week and I’m trying to post every day this week. I’ve barely missed Thursday but I guess this post will still count. It’s just past midnight anyway. πŸ˜›

For this look, I’m wearing the Blanc et Noir jacket that I’ve worn several times before. I just love it, that’s why. It just adds class to any look, I think. Besides, I have no problem about repeating the things I wear. How about you? Do you repeat clothes? πŸ™‚

Anyway, enough with the gab. I’ll leave you with photos and a beautiful poem from E.E. Cummings.

Somewhere I Have Never Traveled

somewhere i have never traveled, gladly beyond

any experience, your eyes have their silence:

in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,

or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me

though i have closed myself as fingers,

you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens

(touching skilfully, mysteriously) her first rose –

or if your wish be to close me, i and

my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,

as when the heart of this flower imagines

the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this worldΒ equals

the power of your intense fragility:whose texture

compels me with the color of its countries,

rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes

and opens; only something in me understands

the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)

nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

Outfit Details:

  • Jacket from Blanc et Noir at SM Store
  • Sheer lace top – thrifted
  • Pencil Skirt from Charlotte Russe
  • Belt from Primo at SM Store
  • Shoes from Parisian

That poem is one of my absolute favorites together with “Variations on the Word Sleep” by Margaret Atwood. I would probably swoon if some guy read that to me with all sincerity. Actually, just thinking about it already makes me all giddy! *swoon*

Do you guys have a favorite poem? Let me know as I would be very happy to read them. πŸ˜‰

Talk to you all soon!

    1. Thank you for this lovely comment πŸ™‚ Left a comment on your blog as well. You have some really nice photos! πŸ™‚

  1. I first heard it when I was in elementary, it was a background poem in the song ‘The First Time I Love Forever’ by Lisa Angelle in a tv series Beauty and the Beast with Linda Hamilton. I think you will also love the song πŸ™‚ Here’s a link I found in YouTube hope you like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI4UBk0ICGc. By the way I like your Dress, especially the details πŸ™‚

    1. This is a beautiful rendition of the poem and yes, I enjoyed the music too. πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for sharing it with me πŸ™‚

  2. I also have days where I stare blankly at the keyboard not knowing what to write and some days where my fingers just type the post I have to make and end up with a great one. Anyway, While there are times when you may have a hard time writing but when it comes to looking good, it’s seems effortless for you and you always stand out.

  3. Gorgeous outfit, Mich! I just wouldn’t dare to wear the lingerie looking sheer top though. hihihi! But it looks great with the jacket and skirt… Two thumbs up! πŸ™‚ xx
