Guilt-Free Meals at Yellow Halo

Working on brands that promote healthy living and weight loss, I’ve become super conscious about my lifestyle recently because admittedly, I don’t eat healthy, sleep early, and worst of all, I don’t exercise. I’m literally a walking time bomb for obesity and chronic heart diseases.

Like me before, you guys might say that I’m not overweight so I don’t have anything to worry about. Well, the only thing saving me right now is my youth. Once I hit 25, the body starts slowing down and that’s when most people start to gain weight. Hence, I realized that as early as now, I got to start taking care of my health so I won’t regret it later on.

Right now, I’ve started exercising most nights via workout videos on Youtube. I don’t think I’m ready yet to sign myself up to gyms and workout classes at the moment. I have commitment issues. I don’t like to tie myself down to contracts so Youtube is all right for now.

When it comes to dieting, I now make sure to minimize my rice intake and eat loads of vegetables and fruits. I eat some meat too because it’s essential to everyone’s diet but not so much.

Sometimes, however, dieting is still a struggle. The thing about dieting is that not all people find it easy to control meal portions. When I have a Β feast laid out before me, I would rather give in than restrain myself. That’s why restaurants like Yellow HaloΒ are a godsend to people who are counting the calories like myself. They make sure that each dish they serve has fruits and veggies, meat, and carbs with the corresponding amount of calories indicated per meal.

Yellow Halo is located at the Wellness Alliance Center, 22nd Floor, Strata 100 Building, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. It’s also where you can find 360 Fitness Club, Polecats Manila, Yoga Plus, and Spaholics. Ideally, if you really want to start going to the gym, you can enroll in any of the classes from 360, Polecats, or Yoga Plus then after, you can have a guilt-free meal at Yellow Halo. Sounds like a good plan, right?

So what does a guilt – free meal look like? Here you go:

This was my meal that day. It was a seafood dish that had shrimps, squid, and fish in a flavorful sauce. It also had a serving of boiled vegetables, brown rice, and fruits. The seafood was really, really good. I wanted to have more but of course, if I did that, then I would ruin the whole point of the meal.

My cousin, who was with me that day, had this chicken dish. It was also really good except that the portions were unfortunately measured. Ah, the woes of dieting. πŸ™‚

Each of our meals came with unsweetened iced tea that tasted like diluted tea. You can ask from splenda if you want some sweetness but again, that would defeat the purpose of it all.

I find it brilliant that there’s an option like this for people who want to eat healthy in the metro. The only downside is each meal costs around PHP180 to PHP300 so it’s not very practical to eat here everyday unless of course you can afford it. This place can give you an idea though about the type of food and portions that one should have while on a diet. πŸ™‚

Are you guys obsessing about healthy living too? What are your thoughts on dieting and weight loss?
