Yesterday, I was finally able to go home early since I had a meeting somewhere near my house. It’s such a luxury coming home when the sun’s still out so I took the opportunity to snap some photos of my outfit for that day with the help of our maid. I took note of the posing pointers written by Sarah of City Gurl Secrets while doing this but I confess that I’m still very, very awkward.
The name Little Miss Muffet came to mind as I was post processing the photos. Quite often, I’m insecure about my height. I’m super short and look like a midget with a big head in photos. Given that I wasn’t wearing heels yesterday, I looked even more like a child playing dress up. Had such a hard time getting decent shots.
You guys be the judge, though:
I guess the little dress with the scalloped peter pan collar isn’t much help either in making me look more grown up. Plus, my curly roots are growing out so my hair’s extra puffy making my head look too big for my head. Hahahaha
Of course, it can also be that those are all in my mind and aren’t actually true. Sometimes, we are all so harsh on ourselves, seeing things that others don’t actually see until we point them out.
To break from the monotony of the brown, I thought it would be nice to have some turquoise accents in the accessories. I’m doing a haul video / post on these accessories soon so watch out for it.
Some details about the look that you might want to know:
- Dress – Topshop
- Shoes – SM Department Store
- Sunglasses – Forever 21
- Accessories – Aizylim
What do you guys think about this look? Do you notice any improvements in my posing? Hahaha Don’t worry, I won’t mind if you give some constructive criticism. π

The accessories are very bright and cheery, isn’t the earring heavy? I want dangling earrings but I worry the weight will pull my earlobes down. XD

Not heavy at all. π They are plastic π

^the same sentiment on the earring. My ear pierce is higher than the “normal” lobes π¦ and dangling earrings make me look kinda weird.
The bangels, girl! I love!

Don’t be so hard on yourself, Mich! You’re pretty and you should know that π Anyway, I think the “big head on the photos” can simply be remedied by a change of angle and perspective. Anyone, even those with small faces can end up looking like a bobblehead when you take photos from the top. Maybe you can try taking photos from below next time. It won’t just make the head smaller, but it lengthens π
PS: I so love your polka dress and accessories! Feel na feel ko ang summer kahit nagsisimula nang umulan.. ^^

I love your get-up! I find it hard to be colorful! I mean, I’m always either dark-themed, or just one color. Haha. About your poses, I think you’re doing great. I also have a problem about appearing like I have a big head but it can be remedied with bangs. As for the posing, sideway angles usually helps (that’s what others say!) and if you put bold makeup on your eyes, or darken your brows, people will put much of their attention on that rather than your overall head. (That’s what I’ve learned too!)
But anyway, keep it up! π
