Rarely has Urban Decay disappointed me in terms of color pay off. Often, their products are so beautifully pigmented it’s a joy putting them on your skin and seeing the colors come alive.
The same can be said for their 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. At the moment, I got the color Gun Metal from House of Flair as their Guest Blogger for the month of April.
Gun Metals is a dark silver shade with beautiful flecks of white and light silver. It kinda reminds me of the Manila sky on a clear night – dark, smoggy, with the twinkling of a multitude of stars visible through the smog. Although I’m not a fan of glitter on my eyeliner (I prefer solid shades), I think that this is perfect as base for a a simple grey eyeshadow as it can add drama and dimension to the look. Moreover, it can make your eyeshadow stay on longer when you pack it on top of this.
Nevertheless, having said that, I do not recommend using this product on it’s own as eyeshadow because it creases, especially when you have oily lids.
To demonstrate to you how you can use this product, here’s an easy look I created using it:
Start by outlining the shape you want for your eyeshadow.
Fill the shape in then blend with a brush. Keep adding and blending until you get the look you want.
Press your favorite silver eyeshadow on top then blend. Line your waterline with Urban Decay’s gunmetal eyeshadow then line your eyes with your favorite black eyeliner. To finish the eyes, use your favorite mascara on your lashes.
This should be the result.
Complete the makeup for the rest of your face then you’re done! 🙂
Overall, I’d give this product a 4.5/5. I deducted .5 because I find the price a bit expensive for an eyeliner (PHP1,900 for a set of FIVE). The product, however, is very good so I would still recommend it.
You can get this and plenty of other colors from the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On pencils from House of Flair. They offer free shipping to anywhere in the country with no minimum purchase required. Awesome, right?
Also, you can pre-order anything from the US (except for food and electronics) via House of Flair so if you want a book, cd, or collector’s item that you can’t find in the Philippines then this is the place to go. Click here to know more about this service.
