WichCraft by La Tienda: The Place to Be in Zamboanga City
You know those places where one goes to be seen? Wichcraft by La Tienda is currently the hottest go-to place in Zamboanga City, which people frequent not only to partake of the delicious offerings on the menu but also to be seen within the huge gathering of the city’s hip crowd.
Unbeknownst to many though, Wichcraft was built painstakingly from the ground up by its proprietors. From the concept behind the store, the recipe for the items on the menu, to theย ambianceย – everything holds a personal touch! One of the owners being a really good friend of mine, I remember her telling me how she, her sister, and her mom tested a multitude recipes (both for food and drinks) before deciding on what to put on the menu. Hence, this family enterprise is drawn from a lifetime of cooking experience and born out of a cumulative love for food.
The WichCraft counter with the menu written and illustrated by my friend. ๐Bread jars on the counter give it a homey feel.A few hours before the Zamboanga Bloggers meetup, I met up with Moritz, who was having a cup of Cafe Latte.Lovely, steaming cup of coffee!Because I was a WichCraft newbie, I asked Moritz for her recommendations. I ended up getting this Crabwich - a house special. It's called as such because its main feature is a soft-shell crab patty. Best consumed by holding the sandwich in your hands and biting in. I used a fork and knife and I felt I diminished the experience somehow. ๐What I love most about WichCraft are their home made drinks. One of the bestselling ones is the Lemon Cranberry. The wintermelon milk tea is also a favorite among regular patrons.Sometimes, presentation is everything! I love these glass jars where the home made drinks are served.More than looking pretty though, the glass jars serve a purpose - you must shake your drink first to evenly distribute the residues before pouring the it into a glass. ๐Moritz also treated me to a Greek Salad. ๐Everything looks pretty. Tastes as good as it looks too ๐My other friend Jaye was also with us and he got this cheese cake. Looks divine! ๐This was Rhea's Peppermint drink. I couldn't resist snapping a photo because it looked really pretty too just like everything else on the menu ๐
Unfortunately, my time in the city is limited. If I had more time, I would have liked to explore more things on the menu. There are a lot of seasonal choices outside the items in the regular menu. What’s good too is that the prices are very affordable! Check out their regular menu hereย and you guys will know what I mean. ๐
For those already in Zamboanga City or for those planning to visit, be sure to drop by this place. Promise, you won’t regret it! Haha…

Hi Mich! Happy new year! โค
Wow, I've heard of Wichcraft from Rhea too, and judging by the photos you took, they must've tasted good! I'm such a sucked for foods. I'm the type who sees edible foods and just craves for it!
Hehehe Happy new year Phyllz! Glad to see you back! The food I’ve tried did indeed taste good. You certainly must drop by when you come home. I’m the same about food too. I love to eat! ๐
I agree!! I super love Wichcraft.. forever suki na ata kame ni hubby.. 3 times in a week kame pumupunta ng wichcraft just to have coffee.. ang ganda kase ng ambiance. hehehe ๐
Was pretty impressed with Wichcraft during my 1st visit 2 weeks ago. I mean, finally! Good coffee, a pretty good selection of pastries, etc. Great job Pocholo!
More reason for me to be excited when I fly home during the holidays since I only visit Zamboanga once a year.
To be honest the dishes here are most to be good to be true. I must say that the juices are ok, but tge quiche is so flat. The crust is very wet and no layers of fat as a normal flaky crust should be. The filling is loaded with flour and a few traces of ham that tasted like luncheon meat and a sloppy cheese topping unlike the normal quiche which has emmental, gruyere or a combination of cheeses for that matter. For 95 pesos I was expecting it to be good, Myrnas sells its chorizo tart for 40 and it has all the nice features that a quiche should possess. The chocolate cake was pretty to look at but extremely horrible in taste. The sandwiches are neither deli in nature or high end except they are loaded and stuffed together with no balance of flavor at all. I hope that they look into their recipes very well, what a shame!

I just wonder why its name is called WitchCraft?

It’s actually Wichcraft without the “T” and it’s a play on words to mean “the art of making sandwiches.” ๐

Very nice presentation of food especially the crab sandwich that looks like a hermit crab! ๐
PS: At first, I read it as witchcraft and was thinking of a spooky themed resto. ๐
