Last week, Paris showcased its Fall/Winter 2011-12 Couture Collections. Amidst the eye-gasmic masterpieces from different designers, a few have stood out most for me. This is a quick post to show you my favorites from Paris’ couture collections.
ONE: This nude dress from Elie Saab!
I can very much imagine myself wearing this and feeling like a fairy warrior whilst doing so. I love, love, love it! Although now that I think about it, it kind of reminds me of a Rodarte for Target dress that I also adore.
TWO: Giambattista Valli Chicness!
For me, this black and white ensemble looks very elegant. I’m reminded of old movies starring some very sophisticated heroine elegantly sitting atop a horse in some exotic location.
THREE: This wisp o’ a gown from Givenchy.
The sheer amount of workmanship and time that went into making this dress is astounding! No wonder the results are also out of this world. Truly, I am in awe of this dress. Watch the story behind it here.
FOUR: Kimono-inspired gown by Giorgio Armani Privé.
I have always dreamed of wearing a kimono someday. Perhaps when I finally set foot in Japan, I shall get one and fulfill my dream. Meanwhile, I’ll drool over this tasteful rendition of the kimono by Giorgio Armani Privé.
FIVE: The manly inspiration from Jean Paul Gaultier.
I was browsing through the Jean Paul Gaultier and this man distracted me from my perusal of the clothes. Nevermind that he’s wearing sheer pants and a shiny, cleavage-showing shirt. His coat is gorgeous and he… well he’s someone I want to keep for myself to be devoured at some later date. Hihi…
I’ve just noticed that the things I liked look quite austere and sober except for the splashes of color from the Armani collection. I used to like wild, colorful clothes when I was younger. I guess things do change, even my fashion preferences. Cheers to growth! 🙂
